Local History Resources
The Henry County Genealogical Society houses its collection at the Kewanee Public Library on the lower level. Visitors are welcome to research family history using this collection.
Microfilm Reader
The library also offers the use of a microfilm reader/printer to look up information in old newspapers. The Henry County Genealogical Society has made various 1857-2010 Kewanee newspapers available on microfilm for research. This is not an all inclusive collection as some issues may be missing. There are also some census records available for Henry County and other surrounding counties.
Henry County Genealogical Society
The group meets at the library on the 4th Monday of each month in the Community Room on the second floor.
Digital Resources
Research your family history using billions of genealogy records from the United States and beyond. Only accessible via the library’s public computers or on your own device at the library.

With sources dating as far back as the 1700s and from 60 countries, this is a great place to start your genealogical journey.
