John Sayers called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm
Public Comments
John Sayers asked for public comments. There were none.
Approval of Minutes
Secretary minutes for July 13, 2026, were reviewed. Andrew moved and Vanessa seconded to approve the minutes.
Resolved, that the minutes of the July 13, 2026 Kewanee public library board of trustees meeting be accepted as presented. Motion passed.
Budget Report
Lea presented the report. First month of the fiscal year. Many annual subscriptions were paid.
2024-2025 Audit Presentation by Simic Irwin and Associates
Presented by Sam Simic and Dawn Hubbard.
Approval of Bills
Lea moved and Jessica seconded to approve the payment of payroll and bills as presented.
Resolved, that the payroll in the amount of $45,075.50 and bills in the amount of $60,848.00 be approved for payment as presented. Motion passed.

First Floor Furniture Quote
Sterling Woodworks, LLC Provided two quotes and the difference is that the project would have been broken down into phases instead of a single installation. Quote one is $25,790.28 (single installation) and quote two is $29,261.96, which would take longer. Jessica moved and Vanessa seconded to do the single installation at a cost of $25,790.28 for furniture on the first floor.
Resolved, that the first floor furniture be purchased from sterling woodworks, LLC for $25,790.28 for a single installation. Motion passed.

Resolved, that the ordinance 2026-2027-1 Creating a public library district working cash fund be created. Motion passed.
